What is Artemisia Annua?
Originated in Asia, the Artemisia plant has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries(500 or 600 years). More than 350 species of this special plant are now growing all over the world, among them artemisia Annua. Artemisia Annua belongs to the plant family of Asteraceae, it is widely cultivated in China, South America, and now Africa. This wonder plant is widely distributed in Asia, Europe, and North America. Artemisia Annua is heavily used in homeopathy; it is said that it improves the immune system and that it possesses antibacterial, purgative, antipyretic, antiseptic, digestive, cholagogue, diuretic, and vasodilatory properties and is also used for the treatment of malaria, inflammation, hepatitis, gallbladder, jaundice, diabetes, and covid19.

Often, people prefer to buy the tea version of artemisia rather than pills.
Dosage and advice of use – tea:
– Use 5gr (approx. 1 big spoon) of Artemisia for 1-liter hot water (I use a thermos bottle) to make a beverage for one day. You can then drink 3 to 5 cups a day.
– Do this for 7 days maximum of 10 days and stop.
– Repeat after a couple of weeks or months when necessary.
Important note:
– Don’t let the herb boil.
– Do not reheat the beverage
– Use neither filters nor teabag before drinking the beverage; the teabag retains artemisinin
– keep in mind that it is a bit bitter. You can combine it with honey or munt. ?
Potential side effects
Users report Artemisia Annua as safe to use. There are no severe adverse effects associated with the tea when used within the recommendation. You may, however, experience marginal effects like:
- Headaches
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Sweating
Moreover, despite being a natural plant, Artemisia Tea should not be used by pregnant women or nursing mothers.  Also, children under 5 years should not use it either.
